EV Charging & Electrical Services
From charger installation to full panel upgrades, we handle the electrical work to get you charging safely at home.
EV Charger Installation
We install all major residential EV chargers — including Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint Home Flex, FLO Home, and others. Whether you already have your charger or need advice on what to buy, we handle the complete electrical installation.
- Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint Home Flex, FLO Home, and other Level 2 chargers
- Hardwired installations for maximum reliability and safety
- Dedicated 240V circuit with properly sized breaker and wiring
- Outlet-based installs (NEMA 14-50) available where appropriate
- Indoor garage and outdoor weatherproof mounting options
- Permit application and ESA inspection coordination included
- Commissioning, testing, and customer walkthrough after install
Hardwired vs. Outlet-Based
Hardwired installations connect the charger directly to a dedicated circuit — this is the most common and reliable approach for Level 2 charging. Outlet-based installs use a NEMA 14-50 receptacle, which allows you to unplug and move the charger if needed. We can advise on the best option for your situation.
What a Typical Install Requires
A Level 2 charger needs a dedicated 240V circuit (typically 40A or 60A depending on the charger), appropriate gauge wire, a breaker with available space in your panel, and a safe mounting location. We assess all of this before any work begins.
Safety & Compliance
Every charger installation includes a permit application and ESA inspection coordination. We ensure all work meets the Ontario Electrical Safety Code. This is not optional — it is how we do every job.
Signs You May Need an Upgrade
- Your panel is rated at 100A (look for a 100 marking on the main breaker)
- All breaker slots are full with no room for a new circuit
- Breakers trip frequently, especially when running high-draw appliances
- You are planning to add an EV charger, hot tub, or other large electrical load
- Your home was built before the 1980s and still has the original panel
What an Upgrade Includes
- Detailed load calculation to confirm capacity requirements
- Coordination with your local utility if a service upgrade is needed
- New 200A panel with modern breakers and proper labelling
- All existing circuits transferred and tested
- Clean, tidy installation with professional workmanship
- Permit and ESA inspection handling
Electrical Panel Upgrades
Many homes in Toronto and surrounding cities still have 100A electrical panels. Adding an EV charger often requires more capacity than the existing panel can safely provide. A panel upgrade to 200A gives you the room you need — for EV charging and any future electrical needs.
Beyond capacity, a panel upgrade improves safety with modern breakers, brings your electrical system up to current code standards, and can be favourable for home insurance compliance.
We perform a detailed load calculation before recommending an upgrade, so you only pay for what you actually need.
Load Management & Energy Solutions
In some cases, a full panel upgrade may not be necessary. Load management devices (sometimes called EVEMS — EV Energy Management Systems) can monitor your home's electrical usage in real time and adjust charger output to stay within safe limits.
This is not the right solution for every home, but it can be a practical option when panel capacity is tight. We will assess your situation and let you know if load management is a viable path for your setup.
